HDfury Arcana - eARC Adapter & Audio Extractor
The HDfury Arcana is the world's first eARC adapter: it takes the full, lossless audio — up to Dolby Atmos over TrueHD and DTS:X — from any HDMI source and delivers it to any eARC or ARC sound system, while passing pristine 4K HDR video to your TV or projector. It is the missing link between your Apple TV, PS5, Xbox or Blu-ray player and soundbars like the Sonos Arc, Bose 700/900 or any eARC AV receiver.
Why you need an eARC adapter
Most TVs are the weak link in your audio chain. Sources connect to the TV, and the TV forwards audio to your soundbar over ARC — but regular ARC cannot carry lossless formats, so Dolby Atmos over TrueHD and DTS-HD are stripped down or lost entirely. Older TVs and projectors have no eARC at all. The Arcana routes the audio around your TV: source → Arcana → full audio to your sound system, full video to your display. No TV upgrade required.
Key features
- Full audio to any eARC/ARC system — Dolby Atmos (TrueHD and MAT), Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, down to PCM and Dolby Digital.
- 4K60 HDR passthrough — HDMI 2.0b, 18Gbps/600MHz: 4K60 4:4:4, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision, with less than 1 ms input lag.
- Gaming ready — supports 1080p120 and 1440p120 from PS5 and Xbox Series X, plus optional 4K-to-1080p downscaling for older displays.
- LLDV magic for projectors — plays Dolby Vision content from any LLDV-capable source on HDR10 displays and projectors, with the source doing the DV tone-mapping.
- CEC volume control — adjust the volume of your eARC sound system with your TV or source remote.
- Lip-sync solved — corrects audio/video synchronisation issues common with eARC TVs.
- OLED status display — a 1-inch screen shows exactly what signal and audio format is passing through; ideal for troubleshooting.
- Installer friendly — RS-232 control, HDCP 2.2 → 1.4 conversion, USB firmware updates, works behind switchers and matrices.
What the Arcana is most used for
- Sonos Arc / Beam owners — get true Dolby Atmos (TrueHD) from Blu-ray players, Apple TV and consoles instead of the lossy version your TV passes on.
- Older TV, modern soundbar — add eARC to any TV or projector that doesn't have it.
- Projector home cinemas — projectors have no audio output at all; the Arcana sends video to the projector and full audio to your sound system.
- Dolby Vision on HDR10 projectors — the built-in LLDV solution unlocks DV playback on displays without native Dolby Vision support.
- eARC AV receivers — feed a legacy or audio-only setup with full lossless audio from any modern source.
Arcana or Arcana 2 — which one do you need?
Both models do the same core job: full audio to your eARC sound system. The difference is video bandwidth and outputs:
| Arcana | Arcana 2 | |
| Max video | 4K60 4:4:4 (18Gbps, HDMI 2.0b) | 4K120 4:4:4 / 8K (40Gbps, HDMI 2.1) |
| VRR / ALLM gaming | 1080p120 / 1440p120 | Full 4K120 VRR |
| HDMI outputs | 1 + eARC out | 2 + eARC out |
| Ideal for | Apple TV, Blu-ray, streaming, 4K60 gaming | PS5 / Xbox Series X at 4K120 VRR, HDMI 2.1 setups |
In short: for streaming boxes, Blu-ray players and 4K60 gaming the Arcana is all you need. Choose the Arcana 2 if you want 4K120 VRR gaming, HDMI 2.1 bandwidth or a second HDMI output. Still not sure? See the full Arcana vs Arcana 2 comparison.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Arcana give me full Dolby Atmos on my Sonos Arc?
Yes — this is exactly what the Arcana is famous for. Your TV's ARC connection strips Dolby Atmos down to lossy Dolby Digital Plus; the Arcana feeds your Sonos Arc the full lossless Dolby Atmos over TrueHD directly from your source.
Do I need an eARC TV to use the Arcana?
No. The Arcana creates the eARC connection itself, so it works with any TV or projector — including older models without ARC or eARC.
Can I game on PS5 or Xbox Series X through the Arcana?
Yes, at up to 4K60, 1440p120 or 1080p120 with less than 1 ms added lag. For 4K120 with VRR, choose the Arcana 2 with full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.
Can it show Dolby Vision on my HDR10 projector?
Yes — the Arcana's LLDV feature lets an LLDV-capable source (Apple TV 4K, Nvidia Shield, most 4K Blu-ray players) perform the Dolby Vision tone-mapping itself and outputs a signal your HDR10 projector can display.
